Day 1: Almaty - Tamgaly - Altyn Emel
We are glad to welcome you on the Altyn Emel tour 6. Upon arrival to the airport guide will meet and transfer you to the Almaty and further drive to Altyn Emel national park. You will have a break at the artificial Kapshagai water reservoir. It is known to be the largest one in Almaty region where you can see the casinos of "Kazakh Las-Vegas" on its bank. Then you will head on to the Tamgly Tas where can see the exceptional monument of Buddha's and texts in Tibetan, Kalmyk and other languages. After it you will drive to the next destination of the tour to Basshi village. You will find out that it is located on the territory of Altyn Emel National Park that is famous due to the Singing Dune. This interesting site is 150 meters high and about 3 km long that you will see at the one of the corners of the Altyn-Emel National Park. Tours to this place are very popular the reason or it is the pure sand, which starts to "sing" in windy weather and its sound reminds the organ music. After hike 150-meter you will head back to Basshi village. The night will be in the hotel.
Day 2: Altyn Emel
In course of the tour you will drive through the unpaved park roads that will take about over 80 km or 2 hours to the Aktau Mountains. These White Mountains are known as paleontological field where the remains of ancient animals whose age are about 25-30 million years. Here were found the remains of giant rhinos, crocodiles, turtles. The shapes of these mountains resemble the famous Egyptian pyramids that will captivate you by colors. The road is not hard and all you need to be careful due to the soft sandy surface. In addition you guide will tell you the stories about inhabitants of an ancient ocean. Then you will head back to the hotel where you will spent the night.
Day 3: Altyn Emel - Charyn - Almaty
In course of the tour you will travel Ash-tree Grove that is located on the Temerlik River. In the lower reaches of the Charyn River and its tributary Temirlik there is a unique place, where relict species of Sogdian Ash-tree are growing. As the legend says the tree grew from winged seed about 5 million years ago and then it became the "Valley of Yurts". Ash-tree Grove received the status of the monument of nature in 1964. The four trees of about the same age are fenced off in the grove that is known as an open-air museum. Continue the drive to Charyn Canyon. Upon arrival you will see the breathtaking panorama view. Then you will head on to the bottom of this unique side that will captivate you by its bizarre shapes of the "Castles Valley". This place appeared during Paleogene and has some resemble of the Grand Canyon of Colorado River in North America but much smaller in term of six. Here you wil be impressed by the shape that the mature made. Transfer to Almaty and overnight at hotel.
