Historical notes

Introduction. Coming to the essence of the history of Kyrgyzstan we would like to inform you as in the face of a short introduction. In the course of a tour in Kyrgyzstan you have an amazing opportunity to find out that the history of the country where you are going to take a car for renting travel is very interesting and shows us a certain but great interest. We would like to note that history of the Kyrgyz people is estimated to be for about 2000 years since the first mentioning in 201 BC in the Chinese notes. It is of great importance to notice that the Kyrgyz used to be nomads and not to build towns and cities, buildings just for the reason to save natural life. For you to feel the culture and atmosphere of the Kyrgyz we recommend to investigate the following periods:

Prehistory (1 million years ago - 1 000 BC). The period of 1 million years ago - 1 000 BC is known as prehistory and it is said to be the time when the people started to show up with the ancient sort of culture and art. And of course in the course of travelling in Kyrgyzstan you are recommended to make a witness of the Rock Art Gallery in Cholpon Ata. On visiting this place while touring in the Issyk Kul region you can see petroglyphs and about 2000 images on the walls of the gallery. In the course of a tour in Kyrgyzstan you will surely get delighted emotions.

Ancient History (1 000 BC - 300 AD). 1 000 BC - 300 AD is the time of the ancient history when we can witness the first mentioning of the Kyrgyz people. In the course of travelling in Kyrgyzstan you have an opportunity to listen to various historical notes and one of the famous ones are the notes made by Chinese investigators. In the chronicle "Historical notes" made by Sima Tan we witness the Kyrgyz as the tribe conquering the Hunnu. The next chronicles Han-shu (History of Han) are made by Ban Gu. In these chronicles we have an opportunity to make a witness of the countries' location - the eastern modern Turkestan.

Turkic Era (500-1200).   Moving on in the time of the history we would like to note the Turkic Era, the period of 500-1200. In the course of a tour in Kyrgyzstan you will be given notes concerning the period of migrating of people from the mountains of Altai to the territory of modern Central Asia. And of course having settled down they made the beginning of the Turkic dynasties. When you start to travel in Kyrgyzstan you will notice that there is no information about the Kyrgyz people since the 7th century. And only in the 7th century we see the creation of the state of the Kyrgyz people, of the Kyrgyz Kaganate. This state was created on the Yenisei River in the South Siberia with the king Barsbek ajo being the leader of them. Making your tour it is possible to witness the existence and basically the spreading of the Kyrgyz Kaganate - from the Irtysh River in the west to the Big Khingan range in the east, from the Angara and Selenga Rivers in the north to the Gobi Desert in the south. As for historical notes, there was given the information by the investigator Barthold during his tours in Kyrgyzstan of those times.

The Mongol Rule (1200-1400). As in any culture there was the time of sad events when during the period of 1200-1400 the Mongol Rule was in power. Since the 13th century the Mongols started to take the territories and people of the already developed Turkic culture. The Kyrgyz from Yenisei had to go under the powers of Genghiz Khan. In the 15th century there started the development of the religion Islam. But still as in the 19th century the people seemed to be of the shamanistic customs.

Kyrgyz consolidation (1400-1800). In the course of a tour rent a car and pay your attention to the period of 1400-1800 which is known as the Kyrgyz consolidation. It is the period of time when  in the 15th century the people started to change their usual place of living in the South Siberia to the territory of Kyrgyzstan where you travel now. But the heads of tribes were trying to create the system with the only tribe in the head. During travelling in Kyrgyzstan you will see that they failed and in the result there appeared the system of wings with the only center.

Russian Colonization (1770-1917). Making a tour in Kyrgyzstan you will be able to find out that the period of 1770-1917 is known as the Russian colonization and out of it we see rather complicating situations. The south of the country suffered from threats from the inner tribes and regions, and from China, Kokand and Kazakhs. The south asked the Russian Empire to protect them and they became the part of the Russian Empire, the north was taken by force. The being in the other state meant the appearance of the agricultural and economy development.

Soviet Rule (1917-1991). The Soviet Rule is the period of 1917-1991. In 1917 the Bolsheviks came and made the Russian Empire to resign by force. The beginning of the Soviet Union was the one with promises of absence of exploitation. The people were promised to be equal. The Soviet Union was the time when educational systems, cultural life started to develop. And of course the country started to become the separate autonomous region and then republic.  But it was not allowed to believe in God which caused massive murders of innocent people from the side of the government.

Independent Kyrgyzstan (since 1991). In 1991 Kyrgyzstan started to be independent country with national flag, emblem and anthem were adopted. In 1992 the country started to be the member of the UN. Then in 1993 the people and the government adopted the constitution. Travelling in Kyrgyzstan on cars rent you will be able to see that the country was not stable. In 2005 and 2010 there were revolutions with desires of the people to resign the government and the president.
